Later, drive through the Rif Mountains and, in the late afternoon, reach Chefchaouen, an entirely painted town whose streets and buildings bear shades of blue; spend good time getting relaxed with its cool mountain breeze. Stay here overnight in this very beautiful town.

Starting our journey after breakfast, drive to Fes, among Morocco's greatest cultural towns from Chefchaouen. Today, drive via a couple of rural Berber villages with attractive countryside stops on the way. Arrive for afternoon free time to start seeing this amazing old city, which includes visits to the Bou Inania Madrasa-from here; views of the medina can be admired. Overnight in Fes.

Today, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco will be discovered-Fes: the medina Fes El Bali is on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. Among the points of interest to visit: Al Quaraouiyine University, Royal Palace, and tanneries. Wander along narrow, twisting alleys in the old part of town lined with shops, markets, and innumerable mosques-this ancient city is sure to lure you. Later tonight, free time to enjoy and have a typical Moroccan dinner.

After breakfast, drive for the Sahara Desert, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains via Ifrane, 'Little Switzerland'. Drive through the cedar forests; this is a great opportunity to snap shots of the area's Barbary apes. Later you will continue to Merzouga via Erfoud, passing through the stunning Ziz Valley, full of palm groves and dramatic cliffs. You reach the dunes in the evening. Then, check into a comfortable hotel in Merzouga for the night. Have dinner at the hotel and take a rest from your daytime travel.

After breakfast, take a full-day 4x4 excursion around Merzouga. During this tour, you will visit the nearby nomads and learn about the nomadic way of life. Then, visit mines where you can see and even touch ancient fossils. Have lunch at about 16:00 in the village of Khamlia, where you will taste traditional food and listen to local music. After lunch, take a deep camel trek into the dunes until late in the afternoon. Have this stunning view of the dunes around to reach your beautiful desert camp that night to catch some comfortable stays overnight, having dinner at this oasis of the desert right in the center of Sahara.

You will admire the incredible sunrise over the dunes, take your breakfast, ride your camel back to Merzouga, and head toward the fabulous Dades Valley. On the way, stop to have a small hike through the impressive Todra Gorge with huge cliffs and take great pictures. Then pass through Rose Valley to arrive in Dades Valley for overnight in a very nice hotel with a panoramic view.

Leave the Dades Valley behind this morning after breakfast en route to Marrakech. You'll stop en route in Ouarzazate, commonly referred to as the "Hollywood of Morocco", where you'll make a brief stop in the village of the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Drive later over the stunning Atlas Mountains with great panoramic views until your late afternoon arrival in Marrakech and check-in to your hotel.
